月曜日は先週の日本のニュースをやさしい日本語で話します。On Mondays, we talk about last week’s news from Japan in easy Japanese.
今日は9月14日から20日までのニュースです。Today’s news is from September 14 to 20.
一つ目、日本銀行は短期金利を1.25%ぐらいに上げると決めました。First, the Bank of Japan decided to raise its short-term interest rate to around 1.25%.
金利はお金を借りるときなどに関係する数字です。An interest rate is a number related to things like borrowing money.
二つ目、日本で100歳以上の人が107,677人になりました。Second, the number of people aged 100 and over in Japan reached 107,677.
10万人を超えたのは初めてです。This is the first time the number has exceeded 100,000.
三つ目、9月19日、愛知県と名古屋市でアジア大会が始まりました。Third, the Asian Games began on September 19 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City.
アジアの大きなスポーツ大会です。10月4日まで続きます。It is a major sports event in Asia. It continues until October 4.
また台風25号が近くに来たため、9月21日の東京ゲームショウは中止になりました。Also, Typhoon No. 25 came nearby, so the Tokyo Game Show scheduled for September 21 was canceled.
安全のためにイベントをしないことになりました。The event was canceled for safety reasons.
