Can you get into a Japanese university if you pass N1?
The answer is that passing N1 alone does not determine admission.
The JLPT is a test that measures Japanese-language ability.
Meanwhile, the EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students), used for applying to universities, covers subjects such as mathematics and science in addition to Japanese.
However, the required subjects and which scores can be used differ by university and faculty.
Some universities combine an essay, an interview, and a document review.
So, the first thing to check is the application guidelines for the university you hope to attend.
First, find out which exams are required, which test-session results can be used, and the application deadline.
For example, this year's second EJU is on November 8, but applications closed on July 30.
Even if you know the exam date, you cannot take the exam if you miss the application deadline.
As you look into how the selection process works, you can also see what the university values.
If you plan to take the entrance exams, start preparing early.
Now, here's a question.
What do you think is a good balance between exam scores and the motivation to learn that applicants convey in an interview?
Take a moment to think about it.
