Hello, everyone.
JPEdLabです。This is JPEdLab.
On Fridays, we share useful information about studying and living in Japan.
Would you like to work part-time after coming to Japan?
But international students cannot start working right away.
First, you need a certain permission.
What permission do you think it is?
The answer is permission to engage in an activity other than that permitted under your status of residence.
People staying in Japan with Student status can work after they receive this permission.
There are also rules about working hours.
Usually, you can work up to 28 hours a week.
During long school holidays, you can work up to 8 hours a day.
Japan's minimum wage differs by prefecture.
Before starting a job, check the current rate where you will work.
In addition to the hourly wage, it is important to consider whether the workplace is near your school and whether you will have time to study.
Here is a question for you.
Is the 28-hour rule necessary to protect time for studying?
Or should people be allowed to work more in cities where rent and other costs are high?
Please write your reasons in a comment, too.
