How it works

In the picture, dip the meat in egg, then eat it. 「食べ方」 means the way to eat: how you eat it.

Put the verb in its ます form, remove 「ます」, then add 「方」 to express how to do the action.

Here, 「方」 is read かた: 食べ方 is read たべかた, not ほう.

If you do not know how to use something, say 「使い方を教えてください」 to ask someone to show you how.

寿司を食べます means “eat sushi.” To talk about how to eat it, use 「寿司の食べ方」.
