〜と〜とどちらが〜ですか~ to ~ to dochira ga ~ desu ka
which of two is more
Use 〜と〜とどちらが〜ですか to ask which of two options has more of a quality, such as better taste.
How it works

Before ordering coffee, use this question to compare two kinds and ask which tastes better.

Here we compare two options. 「どちら」 asks which of the two, rather than which ranks first in a group.

First name the two options, adding 「と」 after each, then follow them with 「どちらが」.

「どちらが」 asks which option has more of the quality that follows. Name the option when you answer.

Put the quality you want to compare afterward: you can use 「おいしいです」 or 「有名です」.

In the coffee example, 「おいしい」 asks for an opinion about taste. Which coffee tastes better can vary from person to person.
