When a な-adjective describes a noun, add 「な」, as in 「きれいな町」.

How it works

  1. When introducing Kyoto to a friend, join 「有名」 and 「町」 to describe what kind of town it is.

  2. 「有名です」 states a quality; 「有名な町です」 also says what kind of town it is.

  • Although 「きれい」 ends in 「い」, it is a な-adjective. Before a noun, use 「きれいな町」.
