〜がほしいです~ ga hoshii desu
want to have something
Use 「〜がほしいです」 to say what you want to have, from an item to something abstract.
How it works

She is thinking about a bag she wants. Use 「ほしいです」 to say what you want to have.

「N」 is what you want. It can be an item like a bag or something abstract like time.

「が」 marks what you want. Put the words in this order: 「N+が+ほしいです」.

Look at her choice between the two bags: she wants the black one, but not the white one.

Use 「ほしくないです」 when you do not want something. Change the 「い」 in 「ほしい」 to 「くない」.

「ほしくないです」 means you do not want something. It does not mean you do not have it or that you dislike it.

Ask 「何がほしいですか」 to find out what someone wants. To answer, replace 「何」 with what you want.

In the examples, 「欲しい」 is read 「ほしい」. It means the same as the form written in kana earlier.

「黒のバッグ」 specifies which kind of bag you want. Put the whole noun phrase before 「が」.
