〜次第/〜次第で~shidai / ~shidai de
depending on; as soon as
With a noun, 〜次第で means “depending on”; after a verb stem, 〜次第 says to act as soon as it happens.
How it works

Outdoors when sunny, indoors when rainy. The venue depends on the weather: the result changes with the conditions.

Look at the arrow after receiving the application: processing starts as soon as it arrives. The focus is on acting immediately.

Add 「次第で」 directly to a noun. Weather and how crowded it is are the conditions that determine the result in the examples.

Remove 「ます」 from the verb, then add 「次第」: 受け取ります→受け取り次第.

The first event has not happened yet. You state what you will do immediately afterward; you are not recounting past events.

Often used in fairly formal notices or promises: once the reservation is confirmed, you will email the other person right away.

Tell the two meanings apart: after a noun, it means “depends on something”; after a verb, “act as soon as it is done.”
