How it works

When following the news, what do you use besides TV? The two check marks show that both sources are used.

「だけじゃなくて」 means “not only…”. The first item still applies, and a second is added.

Use 「Aだけじゃなくて、Bも」 to connect two items. 「も」 comes right after the added item B.

The example uses 「Vこと」 for both “listening to opinions” and “thinking for yourself”, showing that both actions are necessary.
