〜のことなんですが~no koto nan desu ga
No koto nan desu ga (〜のことなんですが) means “gently introduce a topic”.
Excuse me, regarding tomorrow's presentation, could I consult with you for a moment?
Use 「〜のことなんですが」 to introduce a topic before asking for advice or making a request.
In the course
How it works

Before asking for advice or making a request, introduce the topic so the other person knows what you want to discuss.

Use a noun + 「のことなんですが」. Topics such as 「明日の発表」 can also come before this phrase.

In the volunteer activity example, 「が」 introduces the question that follows; it does not express a contrast.
